Trinity is the best of the best!

Trinity is on a regular potty break schedule of every 2-3 hours and has had zero potty accidents in the house while holding it all through the night. Trinity is a wonderful companion, who loves to be around her humans. Although she is personable with the man of the house and two daughters, she loves "Mommy" the best and can be found anywhere she is.

Trinity is getting along well with other dogs.  Trinity is a smart pup, and already knows basic commands (Sit, Stay, Lay, Eat, Go to the bathroom). She is great on a leash and enjoys taking neighborhood walks. Trinity also is very cooperative during teeth brushing every night, and stays put and allows me to even get the hard-to-reach back teeth.

She is a great listener and is eager to please her humans. She is unfazed with the doorbell, knocking at the door, other pups barking, and strangers entering the house. She would happily greet any burglar with soft kisses on their hands!

We are working on Trinity'd manners when she meets another pup. She  may overwhelm some other, shyer dogs with her boisterous greeting ritual.  But there is no aggression.

Trinity is a great listener of verbal commands though, and is slowly learning with consistent training that this behavior is not appropriate. The good news is that her dominant greetings diminish after spending more time with the other pup.

Trinity LOVES her fenced yard! She flies around it like a butterfly searching for a flower - all 4 legs digging in and tongue lolling as she soars. It is poetry in motion!  Trinity just can't get enough of her ball and sailing through the yard at full speed.

She is a very sweet, gentle, mild mannered, go-with-the-flow, smart and obedient pup that would bring joy and great companionship to her new owner/family!

She comes when called and likes playing with toys...she throws them up in the air and goes after them!

Trinity MUST have a fenced yard - required because she so enjoys running happily in her fenced yard now.

Put your application in now, this girl won't be in rescue long!

Trinity is vacationing in Erie, PA with Lisa and her crew.

KEEP THESE FACTS IN MIND:
1. Yorkies do not usually get along well with small children and can be injured by small children, even ones who love them. Be aware of this and keep them apart. 2. Yorkies can be very difficult (nearly impossible) to housebreak. If you are gone for more than 3 hours at a time, the dog will have to have access to wee wee pads, or need someone to stop in to let him out to potty.
3. We almost NEVER get a puppy (less than one year old) in Yorkie Rescue. If only a puppy will do, check the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America website for a recommended breeder - never buy over the Internet, or from a newspaper ad or a petstore. The heartache you save will be immeasureable.
4. There is no such thing as a "teacup" Yorkie, so don't be misled by such a description. LEARN about the breed BEFORE you decide to adopt.
5. You will need to make arrangements to drive and meet the dog at the foster home which can be in New Jersey, western PA, Maryland,  etc. The dog's biography lists where the dog is fostering. We want you to meet the dog with your family and your dog, if you have one. This is a requirement for adoption.

WHAT IS THE ADOPTION FEE?
Adoption donations generally vary from dog to dog, it depends on the health, the age and the size of the dog.

Young Yorkies will have a higher adoption donation since they are the most highly sought after and they help to cover the costs of the older dogs who have a harder time finding a loving home. It is sad but true that people overwhelming demand very young dogs when they would be infinitely happier with a mellow adult.

 ADOPTION AREA

Save A Yorkie Rescue prefers to adopt only in the PA, NJ, western NY, DE, MD, VA, some CT area's. If you are in the NYC area or near Long Island, there is a Yorkie Rescue closer to you.

Be aware that you will be asked to drive to meet and pick up your dog.
