Silver Bella is available for adoption.

She is 9 years old and weighs 6 lbs.

Her adoption fee is $300.00.

We can't believe that this sweet little girl has been in rescue for so long a period of time!  She so deserves to be in her forever home with her forever family!  Is it because of seizures which are very controllable with the medications she is on???  The medications are affordable and only take a couple of minutes to administer to her. Bella would be so grateful to the person who would be helping her and she would shower them with kisses and unconditional love!  She has excellent potty manners!  Bella is the perfect little female Yorkie!!!  Bella continues to make herself comfortable with our other 3 yorkies and the cat.  Even though she is now 9 years old and a bit over 6lbs, she sometimes likes to go to the toy box and get a stuffie to toss around and play with.  She is not a pack dog but prefers her humans and is very comfortable being with them and will lay by your side while you watch tv. If you get up, she will want to come with you wherever you go and follows you constantly. Bella has a veracious appetite which is a side effect of her meds, but we keep her treats to a minamum and feed her a dietary food to keep her weight down.  She still receives her seizure meds twice a day, 12 hours apart, and a drop for her eye.   Her potty habits are excellent and she is first to finish and wait for you to take her back inside.  She does not do steps and will need to be carried up and down but a 6 lbs that should not be a problem.  At least she doesn't have to go far as she is very close to the ground.  Bella sleeps with us and we keep her on a leash in bed as she will try to jump off to follow you if you get up.  She requires lifting to get on a chair or couch.  We are using several foam steps to help her up and down and she uses these to get up and down.  She is very vocal when it comes to food and will get right under you when making her breakfast or dinner.  I can't say enough about this sweet girl.  She loves to go on short walks (she is unable to do more than 5 or ten minutes).  As soon as she sees her leash she knows and will run to the door. She also is a good passenger in the car when going to the park for a brief visit and short walk. She just loves everyone and will smother you with kisses. Bella requires a quiet comfy home where someone is home to keep her safe if she has a seizure and will be diligent with giving her her meds every 12 hours.  She cannot walk on wooden floors and needs carpet.

Silver Bella is staying with Sue and John and their gang in Harrington, DE.

KEEP THESE FACTS IN MIND:
1. Yorkies do not usually get along well with small children and can be injured by small children, even ones who love them. Be aware of this and keep them apart. 2. Yorkies can be very difficult (nearly impossible) to housebreak. If you are gone for more than 3 hours at a time, the dog will have to have access to wee wee pads, or need someone to stop in to let him out to potty.
3. We almost NEVER get a puppy (less than one year old) in Yorkie Rescue. If only a puppy will do, check the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America website for a recommended breeder - never buy over the Internet, or from a newspaper ad or a petstore. The heartache you save will be immeasureable.
4. There is no such thing as a "teacup" Yorkie, so don't be misled by such a description. LEARN about the breed BEFORE you decide to adopt.
5. You will need to make arrangements to drive and meet the dog at the foster home which can be in New Jersey, western PA, Maryland,  etc. The dog's biography lists where the dog is fostering. We want you to meet the dog with your family and your dog, if you have one. This is a requirement for adoption.

WHAT IS THE ADOPTION FEE?
Adoption donations generally vary from dog to dog, it depends on the health, the age and the size of the dog.

Young Yorkies will have a higher adoption donation since they are the most highly sought after and they help to cover the costs of the older dogs who have a harder time finding a loving home. It is sad but true that people overwhelming demand very young dogs when they would be infinitely happier with a mellow adult.

 ADOPTION AREA

Save A Yorkie Rescue prefers to adopt only in the PA, NJ, western NY, DE, MD, VA, some CT area's. If you are in the NYC area or near Long Island, there is a Yorkie Rescue closer to you.

Be aware that you will be asked to drive to meet and pick up your dog.
