Koko is an amazing 15 year old yorkie mix who came into rescue in February of 2021. She was surrendered to the shelter because her family could no longer care for her. She came in emaciated and sick. After staying with a local member she was transferred to her forever foster home. Since then she has had a dental cleaning and several vet appointments to bring her up to date on all immunizations and check up requirements. She is now thriving in her new home. She has gained weight and her fur has grown beautiful and thick. She has been groomed multiple times and has begun wearing a bow like her foster sister.
When Koko first arrived at her forever foster home, she could not walk half of a mile. Since then she has worked her way slowly up to 2 miles in the early morning during the hot months. During the cooler months she enjoys several short one miles walks throughout the day when the outdoors can be enjoyed without the effects of hot pavement and the horrible humidity which makes breathing difficult for these little dogs. She has turned out to be an amazing little dog with a lot of sass. She lets you know when she needs something....like the piece of watermelon you have on your fork or when she would like to lay in the grass in a patch of sunlight. We don't mind though. She has made it to 15 and we want her to keep on truckin!
