Dasher is available for adoption. Dasher, who was originally Toby, he answers to “Toby” He is learning his routine quickly and loves to follow us around with toys, just waiting for a lap to jump into. He is getting better at learning social skills, but still has a way to go. He is very smart and understands some commands...when he wants too! Definitely, a bit of that yorkie stubborness! He has learned the layout of his walks and knows exactly where to go to come back to our house. He is not fond of the cold below 30 and hates the rain & puddles. He doesn’t seem to understand the backyard concept and isn’t very fond of grass, so we have been going “outside” to play several times a day to learn it is a big play yard. He is getting along well with his foster brother and is learning how to play more... They play tug of war and chase each other around several times a day. Dasher is learning well how to be a little brother. His "only child" attitude is slowly giving way to being part of the pack. Dasher had veterinary consultations for a hernia and will have surgery to make the repair, along with his neuter, near the end of February or early March. This doesn't slow him down, I swear he has springs in his little legs! He will need a dental cleaning after his recovery, but it’s not urgent, so first things first. Dasher will be available for adoption after he has had time to heal from his procedures. Dasher is staying with Donna in Chesapeake, VA. Save A Yorkie Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) qualified non-profit organization operating on donations from Yorkie lovers who care. Please help by donating your tax deductible donations. OR mail your check or money order to YOUR generosity is appreciated! Young Yorkies will have a higher adoption donation since they are the most highly sought after and they help to cover the costs of the older dogs who have a harder time finding a loving home. It is sad but true that people overwhelming demand very young dogs when they would be infinitely happier with a mellow adult. ADOPTION AREA Save A Yorkie Rescue prefers to adopt only in the PA, NJ, western NY, DE, MD, VA, some CT area's. If you are in the NYC area or near Long Island, there is a Yorkie Rescue closer to you. |
