Snuggles is available for adoption. Besides snuggling, Snuggles loves to play with the other dogs in the household, as well as her favorite toy which happens to be a pillow shaped like a loaf of bread. She makes the cutest little squeaks when she plays with the other dogs in the household and really makes us laugh when she tries to sneak up and get the other dogs from behind. She’s becoming more confident in playing one-on-one with the dogs but sneaking up from behind is her way of being involved without the attention being on her.
We have been working diligently on crate training and potty training and Snuggles has been doing a great job! She sleeps all through the night in her crate without any accidents and is ready to potty outside when let out in the morning. She takes routine breaks and nap times in her crate throughout the day as well and settles down nicely. Snuggles is a pretty bright pup and has been doing well so far with obedience training. She picked up “sit” almost immediately and has been practicing “lay down” and “stay” as well. We continuously work on applying her commands to daily life such as sitting and waiting at the back door before going outside and sitting patiently when I put her food bowl down. She has caught on very quickly to training commands! Snuggles has been to the vet and got a clean bill of health! She will need to be spayed when she turns 6 months old. She is up to date on her vaccinations and had a good experience overall at the vet. She was timid with the staff and preferred to stay close but she let them do what they needed to do. She travels *great* in the car. She is quiet, comfortable, and will mostly use the time to take a nap. Kisses has also been exposed to other dogs and people. She’s been to a few doggy play dates with her foster family’s friends and has attended a couple “puppy social hours” at a local dog daycare. She really enjoys meeting new dog friends and shares any toys nicely! She has met her foster mom’s family and after seeing them a few times, has really begun to like them and be comfortable! She jumps on their laps and follows them around. So, don’t let her timid greeting fool you! She just needs time to warm up, then she loves you!
Overall, Snuggles is such a fun loving, unique pup who is bound to brighten everyone’s day! She has so much to offer and learn at her young age! She adapts well to new situations and has gotten along well with multiple different dogs. She has not been introduced to cats so we are not sure if she is good with them. She gets along great with the few older kids she’s met so far and loves to prance around and play. Due to her young age, Snuggles requires a fenced in yard, the completion of an obedience training class, and to be spayed once she’s 6 months old. Snuggles was found in a box on the side of the road with her littermate. They are being fostered together but will not be adopted out together. I’m really hoping she can find a forever home with a young dog companion to do life alongside her to help soften the separation from her littermate. Snuggles gets a lot of her confidence from being around the other dogs in the household and would truly thrive with another dog to go through life with. Young Yorkies will have a higher adoption donation since they are the most highly sought after and they help to cover the costs of the older dogs who have a harder time finding a loving home.
