Billy Boy is about four years old and has a beautiful blond coat with light apricot highlights,
especially on his face and the end of his tail…and did you see those paws… there’s no “slipping
and sliding” on the tile floors for him!

He is just the happiest little boy and he SMILES! He smiles when it’s time to go for a walk, a ride
in the car, when there’s something fun to do or when you just call his name.

He loves to ride in the car (he enjoys the bird’s nest view from the back window of the car) and
loves to go for walks and does very well on a leash. He’ll try to run after squirrels and bunnies
and pays special attention to other dogs, but there’s no barking!

He enjoys his food, (has no aggression with food) and will eat about half and then takes a short
2 or 3 minute break wandering around the house and then back to the bowl to finish it off!

Billy doesn’t mind thunderstorms, loud noises, or even going out in the rain. He is
housetrained. He’s good with dogs and loves to chase the birds around the back yard – the
neighbors are glad that there’s no barking as he would spend hours watching and chasing.

This sweet little boy has a wonderful affectionate temperament, but not with visitors. He’s
NOT o.k. with strangers coming into his home. We’re working on this behavior and he is
getting better. He’s has learned to settle down once guests are here awhile and will even
comfortably sit on their laps.

He loves to be with his family members! He is content to do whatever you’re doing. He has a
lot of fun energy but is perfectly content to just be beside you on his back for hours of rubs and
scratches.

He smiles and his tail wags when you walk into the room, even if you were only in another part
of the house. But look out if you’ve actually gone out for a while - get the towel - here come
the kisses - lots and lots of kisses…oh, and of course, that smile!

If you’re home most of the time, not a lot of people coming and going, get your towel ready
and give Bonnie and Mark a call!

Billy Boy is vacationing near Allentown, PA with Bonnie and Mark.

KEEP THESE FACTS IN MIND:
1. Yorkies do not usually get along well with small children and can be injured by small children, even ones who love them. Be aware of this and keep them apart. 2. Yorkies can be very difficult (nearly impossible) to housebreak. If you are gone for more than 3 hours at a time, the dog will have to have access to wee wee pads, or need someone to stop in to let him out to potty.
3. We almost NEVER get a puppy (less than one year old) in Yorkie Rescue. If only a puppy will do, check the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America website for a recommended breeder - never buy over the Internet, or from a newspaper ad or a petstore. The heartache you save will be immeasureable.
4. There is no such thing as a "teacup" Yorkie, so don't be misled by such a description. LEARN about the breed BEFORE you decide to adopt.
5. You will need to make arrangements to drive and meet the dog at the foster home which can be in New Jersey, western PA, Maryland,  etc. The dog's biography lists where the dog is fostering. We want you to meet the dog with your family and your dog, if you have one. This is a requirement for adoption.

WHAT IS THE ADOPTION FEE?
Adoption donations generally vary from dog to dog, it depends on the health, the age and the size of the dog.

Young Yorkies will have a higher adoption donation since they are the most highly sought after and they help to cover the costs of the older dogs who have a harder time finding a loving home. It is sad but true that people overwhelming demand very young dogs when they would be infinitely happier with a mellow adult.

 ADOPTION AREA

Save A Yorkie Rescue prefers to adopt only in the PA, NJ, western NY, DE, MD, VA, some CT area's. If you are in the NYC area or near Long Island, there is a Yorkie Rescue closer to you.

Be aware that you will be asked to drive to meet and pick up your dog.
