Bell of the Ball is available for Adoption

Bell of the Ball is 8 months old old.

Bell of the Ball weighs 5 pounds.

Bell of the Ball's adoption donation is $450.

Bell of the Ball is a 8 month old puppy. She is a happy, energetic, puppy that loves to play.   She will become someone's little shadow because she attaches to one person quickly and she can sing to tell you what she wants.

This little girl loves playing with other dogs, she loves playing with toys, she is being taught to do potty outside and she is learning quickly.   She will make a great little travel companion as she curls up in a ball and sleeps the entire trip.  Bell of the Ball will be your little shadow and follow you wherever you go.  She eats very well and sleeps through the night.

I would like her to go to a home where her person is home all day or most of the day and they will have the time to train, exercise, and socialize this little girl. I would like another small dog in the home, she loves playing with her foster siblings.  She is too small to be around children, if you have children in your home or children visiting often, she is not the right fit for your home.

She would love a fenced in yard (although not a requirement) where her person will be able to let her run free under their supervision (you should never leave a small dog unsupervised in a fenced in area because of birds of prey and other animals that can get into your fenced yard).  She will need obedience classes and it is a requirement for any dog adopted from our group that is under 18 months of age. Bell of the Ball is going to make someone a very happy pet parent when she goes to her forever home, she is a little love bug!!!

Here is what we are looking for in a new family for Bell of the Ball:

  1. Dog experience – you will have to show Bell of the Ball what is expected of her.
  2. Someone who is home most of the day, she does not like being left alone.
  3. Another small dog in the house.
  4. A fenced yard would be nice but not required. As long as we know she will get lots of walks, lots of play, lots of mind stimulation and exercise - we don't insist on a fenced yard (it just is nice to have in case she gets out between your legs). But she must NEVER EVER be off leash outside.
  5. Able to take the dog to obedience classes – required, and socialize her.
  6. She is too small to be around young children, if you have young children in your home or children visiting often, she is not the right fit for your home.
Thank you to all of you out there who have sponsored little Bell of the Ball!  You did it! You got her through the surgeries.  We thank you deeply.  God bless you for your wonderful kindess.

KEEP THESE FACTS IN MIND:
1. Yorkies do not usually get along well with small children and can be injured by small children, even ones who love them. Be aware of this and keep them apart. 2. Yorkies can be very difficult (nearly impossible) to housebreak. If you are gone for more than 3 hours at a time, the dog will have to have access to wee wee pads, or need someone to stop in to let him out to potty.
3. We almost NEVER get a puppy (less than one year old) in Yorkie Rescue. If only a puppy will do, check the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America website for a recommended breeder - never buy over the Internet, or from a newspaper ad or a petstore. The heartache you save will be immeasureable.
4. There is no such thing as a "teacup" Yorkie, so don't be misled by such a description. LEARN about the breed BEFORE you decide to adopt.
5. You will need to make arrangements to drive and meet the dog at the foster home which can be in New Jersey, western PA, Maryland,  etc. The dog's biography lists where the dog is fostering. We want you to meet the dog with your family and your dog, if you have one. This is a requirement for adoption.

WHAT IS THE ADOPTION FEE?
Adoption donations generally vary from dog to dog, it depends on the health, the age and the size of the dog.

Young Yorkies will have a higher adoption donation since they are the most highly sought after and they help to cover the costs of the older dogs who have a harder time finding a loving home. It is sad but true that people overwhelming demand very young dogs when they would be infinitely happier with a mellow adult.

 ADOPTION AREA

Save A Yorkie Rescue prefers to adopt only in the PA, NJ, western NY, DE, MD, VA, some CT area's. If you are in the NYC area or near Long Island, there is a Yorkie Rescue closer to you.

Be aware that you will be asked to drive to meet and pick up your dog.
