Willie or Won't He is available for adoption.

He is 7 months old and weighs 5 lbs.

His adoption fee is $600.00.

Willie or Won't He is the new baby in Rescue!   Willie is a 7 month old, 5lb little boy, and he is full of energy and happiness!  You can not be around him and not smile! He loves to play, go for walks, and snuggle.  He LOVES to be right next to his people and will follow you around wherever you go like a little mini shadow!

Willie was with his family for the first 7 months of his life and although they loved him, they did not have the time that was required for a puppy.  We want to make sure that his next home is his furever home - one that is filled with time, patience, and love.

Willie is learning to do potty outside because we have the time to work with him.  Someone experienced with house training a dog and with lots of patience is going to be needed for this little sweetie.

He gets along great with other dogs, and would do well in a home with another small dog (10lbs or under).

Willie is too small to be around small children - he would do well with a family that has children that are at least 12+ years old.  He needs a family that is willing to put in LOTS of time and patience as he needs to be trained - he is just a puppy!

He is going to make a wonderful addition to the family for the lucky furever home he ends up in!   He is vacationing with LeeAnne and Steve and their gang in Vineland, NJ.

Here is what we are looking for in a new family to be his furever home:

1. Dog experience - you will have to teach ans show Willie what is expected of him
2. Someone who is home most of the day - he does not like being along for long periods of time
3. Another small dog in the house (under 10lbs) that can tolerate (and enjoy!) his energentic personality
4. Able to take him to obidience classes - required to socialize him
5. No small children (children must be at least 12+ years old)
6. A family with lots of patience, time, dedication, and love

KEEP THESE FACTS IN MIND:
1. Yorkies do not usually get along well with small children and can be injured by small children, even ones who love them. Be aware of this and keep them apart. 2. Yorkies can be very difficult (nearly impossible) to housebreak. If you are gone for more than 3 hours at a time, the dog will have to have access to wee wee pads, or need someone to stop in to let him out to potty.
3. We almost NEVER get a puppy (less than one year old) in Yorkie Rescue. If only a puppy will do, check the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America website for a recommended breeder - never buy over the Internet, or from a newspaper ad or a petstore. The heartache you save will be immeasureable.
4. There is no such thing as a "teacup" Yorkie, so don't be misled by such a description. LEARN about the breed BEFORE you decide to adopt.
5. You will need to make arrangements to drive and meet the dog at the foster home which can be in New Jersey, western PA, Maryland,  etc. The dog's biography lists where the dog is fostering. We want you to meet the dog with your family and your dog, if you have one. This is a requirement for adoption.

WHAT IS THE ADOPTION FEE?
Adoption donations generally vary from dog to dog, it depends on the health, the age and the size of the dog.

Young Yorkies will have a higher adoption donation since they are the most highly sought after and they help to cover the costs of the older dogs who have a harder time finding a loving home. It is sad but true that people overwhelming demand very young dogs when they would be infinitely happier with a mellow adult.

 ADOPTION AREA

Save A Yorkie Rescue prefers to adopt only in the PA, NJ, western NY, DE, MD, VA, some CT area's. If you are in the NYC area or near Long Island, there is a Yorkie Rescue closer to you.

Be aware that you will be asked to drive to meet and pick up your dog.
