Theo is available for adoption.

He is 5 years old and weighs 4.5 pounds.

His adoption fee is $350.00.

Update: Theo is doing very well so far.  He loves to stick his face into yours and give kisses.  Makes it very difficult to sleep or watch TV!  He has gained  a bit of weight and is about where he should be.    It's almost three weeks since I've had him and I feel that he would do best in a home with another dog.  He is just now "thinking" about playing with my girls.  He's not sure what to do.  He doesn't know what toys are either.  He needs to learn how to be a dog from another dog.  Theo will do best in a forever home with a dog buddy and a family that will have the time and patience to give to him and teach him all the things he has to learn.

Theo is as cute as he can be.  He eats well, likes to play with me (with my hand - not toys so far) and is a big kisser.  He likes to stay close and cuddle.  His little tail wags so fast I could almost fly around the room.  He's the perfect little yorkie that everybody is looking for.  He is only 4.5 pounds.

He is a very sweet boy and is trying to play with toys and loves to give kisses.   Theo doesn't know how to walk with harness and leash and doesn't know what grass is.  He doesn't know how to act like a little dog because he was never given the chance...he is ready and willing to learn how to be a normal little dog and is looking for a forever family that is willing and that will have the patience to teach him all the things he needs to learn.

Theo came from a hoarding situation.  This poor little boy has been through so much in his short life.  He lived in horrible conditions in a small cage with other dogs in feces and vomit and pee.  He needs lots of vetting...a dental, a neuter, heartworm testing, vaccines, etc., and SAYRescue will have that all done for him.  He was just groomed for the first time and look how beautiful he is!!!

Check out the pictures below to see the deplorable conditions this beautiful little boy lived in.

He is vacationing with Vera and her girls and Baby Doll, in Pittsburgh, PA.

KEEP THESE FACTS IN MIND:
1. Yorkies do not usually get along well with small children and can be injured by small children, even ones who love them. Be aware of this and keep them apart. 2. Yorkies can be very difficult (nearly impossible) to housebreak. If you are gone for more than 3 hours at a time, the dog will have to have access to wee wee pads, or need someone to stop in to let him out to potty.
3. We almost NEVER get a puppy (less than one year old) in Yorkie Rescue. If only a puppy will do, check the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America website for a recommended breeder - never buy over the Internet, or from a newspaper ad or a petstore. The heartache you save will be immeasureable.
4. There is no such thing as a "teacup" Yorkie, so don't be misled by such a description. LEARN about the breed BEFORE you decide to adopt.
5. You will need to make arrangements to drive and meet the dog at the foster home which can be in New Jersey, western PA, Maryland,  etc. The dog's biography lists where the dog is fostering. We want you to meet the dog with your family and your dog, if you have one. This is a requirement for adoption.

WHAT IS THE ADOPTION FEE?
Adoption donations generally vary from dog to dog, it depends on the health, the age and the size of the dog.

Young Yorkies will have a higher adoption donation since they are the most highly sought after and they help to cover the costs of the older dogs who have a harder time finding a loving home. It is sad but true that people overwhelming demand very young dogs when they would be infinitely happier with a mellow adult.

 ADOPTION AREA

Save A Yorkie Rescue prefers to adopt only in the PA, NJ, western NY, DE, MD, VA, some CT area's. If you are in the NYC area or near Long Island, there is a Yorkie Rescue closer to you.

Be aware that you will be asked to drive to meet and pick up your dog.
