Linus is available for adoption.

He is 4 years old and weighs 8 lbs.

His adoption fee is $350.00.

My foster mom says I am the best foster she has ever had.  I love my 3 foster siblings and get along great with them and even like the cat.  Although I am still shy and still shy of humans, I will follow my foster mom and dad around the house looking for a treat.  I do like to run around outside and tumble around in the big fenced in yard, and you have to be fast to catch me, so I definitely need the yard to be fenced in. But I will lay down and let you pick me up.  Mom says there is not a mean bone in my body, I do not growl, snap or bite and I now have a comfy bed that I like to be in and snuggle up nice an cozy. Foster mom says I am doing real good at my potty training and have not had any recent accidents, that's good news to me too.

Oh, and did I mention, I love, love, love my bully sticks and cheese treats.  I can have full run of the house to run and chase my foster sisters and love to have them chase me.  Bedtime is my favorite as I get to snuggle up real close with my foster mom and dad and my foster siblings. Mom says I still need to learn to walk on a leash as I get scared and am not sure what is expected of me. Car rides are great too, as I get to sit in the doggie car seat with my foster sibling.  I am real good and do not try to jump out, I prefer to take a nap while traveling.

We are looking for a forever home for Linus that has experience with puppymill dogs, has the time to spend with him and another small dog to teach him how to be a dog will also help.  We would also like a completly fenced in yard because Linus loves being outdoors and running around...this is a new experience for him!  If you think you could be the special person that Linus needs then please put your application in today and get yourself approved to adopt this fabulous little boy...you will not regret it!!!

Linus is vacationing in Harrington, DE, with Sue and her gang.

KEEP THESE FACTS IN MIND:
1. Yorkies do not usually get along well with small children and can be injured by small children, even ones who love them. Be aware of this and keep them apart. 2. Yorkies can be very difficult (nearly impossible) to housebreak. If you are gone for more than 3 hours at a time, the dog will have to have access to wee wee pads, or need someone to stop in to let him out to potty.
3. We almost NEVER get a puppy (less than one year old) in Yorkie Rescue. If only a puppy will do, check the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America website for a recommended breeder - never buy over the Internet, or from a newspaper ad or a petstore. The heartache you save will be immeasureable.
4. There is no such thing as a "teacup" Yorkie, so don't be misled by such a description. LEARN about the breed BEFORE you decide to adopt.
5. You will need to make arrangements to drive and meet the dog at the foster home which can be in New Jersey, western PA, Maryland,  etc. The dog's biography lists where the dog is fostering. We want you to meet the dog with your family and your dog, if you have one. This is a requirement for adoption.

WHAT IS THE ADOPTION FEE?
Adoption donations generally vary from dog to dog, it depends on the health, the age and the size of the dog.

Young Yorkies will have a higher adoption donation since they are the most highly sought after and they help to cover the costs of the older dogs who have a harder time finding a loving home. It is sad but true that people overwhelming demand very young dogs when they would be infinitely happier with a mellow adult.

 ADOPTION AREA

Save A Yorkie Rescue prefers to adopt only in the PA, NJ, western NY, DE, MD, VA, some CT area's. If you are in the NYC area or near Long Island, there is a Yorkie Rescue closer to you.

Be aware that you will be asked to drive to meet and pick up your dog.
