MI MI MI HAS AN ADOPTION PENDING.   PLEASE LOOK AT THE OTHER DOGS ON OUR WEBSITE THAT ALSO NEED A FOREVER HOME!

She is 3 years old and weighs 6.5 lbs.

Her adoption fee is $500.00.

Our wonderful surgeon, Dr. Carlos Hodges, has performed a miracle just for Mi Mi Mi. She had her surgery and is recovering in the arms of her foster mom, who adores her.  If all goes well, as we pray it will, Mi Mi Mi should be a normal dog who will not need medications or a special diet. Just a family who knows how to take care of her and has time to walk, to play, to train and care for her. She needs an active family with a good vet, a nice yard that’s fenced in and perhaps another small friendly dog.

Do Re Mi Fa So La Ti Do  –  La La La,  Mi Mi Mi  YES!  That’s the one!

Mi Mi Mi  - She’s as beautiful as a song and just as entertaining!

Mi Mi Mi came in suffering from a severe but common condition in the Yorkshire Terrier Breed -  Livershunt!  Damn – such an evil, horrible condition.  Mi Mi, who is just 3 years old and weighs just 6 and a half pounds - suffered because even eating caused her a lot of pain. But that is over… No more!

We were worried about her having surgery, but Mi Mi Mi had her own agenda.  Even while in the hospital - belly rubs for all!  She just rolled over on her back and smiled a self satisfied smirk when the nurses stopped by to check on her.

Mi Mi MI has been really good with her housetraining; she’s playful and knows to sit and come (although she’s a little selective with the second one). She rides nicely in the car, is good for her bath and has a wonderful appetite.

She zooms around the yard (did we mention that she needs an active family?) and loves playing with her toys. If you’re not paying attention, she’ll even toss her toys herself, running after them, pouncing and starting all over again until she tires herself out and looks for her human to cuddle with. She doesn’t even mind if the toys don’t squeak anymore, as long as she can toss them in the air…that’s just fine with her.

Mi Mi Mi is as innocent as a child so she sleeps soundly through the night, no stirring until the alarm goes off. She’s a sweetheart and a genius who caught on quickly to her new schedule with her foster mom.

MiMi is a show off. She walks up to greet guests, dancing delicately on her hind legs, front legs high above her, waving like Lady GaGa, until you pick her up or bend down to her level. She is a joy and so much fun, no tv needed, she’ll be your entertainment.

Mi Mi Mi has a secret wish…. Sshhhhssshhh…. She just whispered in our ear -  She would love a little buddy to play with - as long as her new sister or brother doesn’t mind sharing the toys, or maybe surrendering them altogether.

MiMi is such a sweetheart and so delightful. She won’t be in rescue long.

MiMi is vacationing in Northampton, PA with Mark, Bonnie and brother Billy.

KEEP THESE FACTS IN MIND:
1. Yorkies do not usually get along well with small children and can be injured by small children, even ones who love them. Be aware of this and keep them apart. 2. Yorkies can be very difficult (nearly impossible) to housebreak. If you are gone for more than 3 hours at a time, the dog will have to have access to wee wee pads, or need someone to stop in to let him out to potty.
3. We almost NEVER get a puppy (less than one year old) in Yorkie Rescue. If only a puppy will do, check the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America website for a recommended breeder - never buy over the Internet, or from a newspaper ad or a petstore. The heartache you save will be immeasureable.
4. There is no such thing as a "teacup" Yorkie, so don't be misled by such a description. LEARN about the breed BEFORE you decide to adopt.
5. You will need to make arrangements to drive and meet the dog at the foster home which can be in New Jersey, western PA, Maryland,  etc. The dog's biography lists where the dog is fostering. We want you to meet the dog with your family and your dog, if you have one. This is a requirement for adoption.

WHAT IS THE ADOPTION FEE?
Adoption donations generally vary from dog to dog, it depends on the health, the age and the size of the dog.

Young Yorkies will have a higher adoption donation since they are the most highly sought after and they help to cover the costs of the older dogs who have a harder time finding a loving home. It is sad but true that people overwhelming demand very young dogs when they would be infinitely happier with a mellow adult.

 ADOPTION AREA

Save A Yorkie Rescue prefers to adopt only in the PA, NJ, western NY, DE, MD, VA, some CT area's. If you are in the NYC area or near Long Island, there is a Yorkie Rescue closer to you.

Be aware that you will be asked to drive to meet and pick up your dog.
