Mozzart is available for adoption.

He is 8 years old and weighs 4 lbs.

His adoption fee is $400.00.

Wolfang Amadeus Mozart wrote his first symphony when he was just 8 years old.

Our 8 year old genius, Mozzart, hopes to put a love song into the hearts of his forever family!

Mozzart's journey began in FL where his mom became too sick to care for him.   SAY is determined to find the perfect family for Mozzart! Someone with Yorkie experience, who won't back down from attitude and can out think him when necessary.

Mozzart is living with a foster sibling (7 year old Pug). Mozzart is loving with his foster family which doesn't mean that he gives up easily. When he has something he treasures, he holds on and defends it.  Treats are treasured and he has to learn to work for what he gets.  While he has not been interested in toys, we will continue to see if we can find one that he will enjoy.

He has a dry left eye and will need eye drops daily...for life.  Please please please promise him you will brush his teeth daily to keep them in tip top shape!

Mozzart loves to curl up on his pillow and blanket.  He is learning that his crate is a safe place to be-his bed and his blanket makes it nice and cozy.

His preferred spot is next to someone on the couch and he can become possessive of that person so his new family has to be experienced and fearless!  As soon as someone sits on the couch - up jumps Mozzart! But don't let him back you down!  He may be small but he is determined. He may be cute but he must not be the dominant one in your home.  He needs to know who is in charge so consider this typical Yorkie temperament. If you are a softie, he will own you.

Mozzart has not let the cooler weather bother him at all.  Go out just to pee?  Show him the way. He wants to march down the sidewalk for a walk!  Mozart walks nicely on a leash and is a typical boy- stop, smell and send a message several times per walk. Such a smart little man to go out to potty.

Are you an active person, perhaps who has had a dog before and wants to hear a little jingle... the sound of leash and harness.... with a small happy dog to go with it?  Our Mozzart will have you singing operas this Spring. When the air freshens and the grass goes green - don't you want a little music in your life? Don't you want Mozzart?

Mozzart is vacationing with Susan and her family in Lansdale, PA.

KEEP THESE FACTS IN MIND:
1. Yorkies do not usually get along well with small children and can be injured by small children, even ones who love them. Be aware of this and keep them apart. 2. Yorkies can be very difficult (nearly impossible) to housebreak. If you are gone for more than 3 hours at a time, the dog will have to have access to wee wee pads, or need someone to stop in to let him out to potty.
3. We almost NEVER get a puppy (less than one year old) in Yorkie Rescue. If only a puppy will do, check the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America website for a recommended breeder - never buy over the Internet, or from a newspaper ad or a petstore. The heartache you save will be immeasureable.
4. There is no such thing as a "teacup" Yorkie, so don't be misled by such a description. LEARN about the breed BEFORE you decide to adopt.
5. You will need to make arrangements to drive and meet the dog at the foster home which can be in New Jersey, western PA, Maryland,  etc. The dog's biography lists where the dog is fostering. We want you to meet the dog with your family and your dog, if you have one. This is a requirement for adoption.

WHAT IS THE ADOPTION FEE?
Adoption donations generally vary from dog to dog, it depends on the health, the age and the size of the dog.

Young Yorkies will have a higher adoption donation since they are the most highly sought after and they help to cover the costs of the older dogs who have a harder time finding a loving home. It is sad but true that people overwhelming demand very young dogs when they would be infinitely happier with a mellow adult.

 ADOPTION AREA

Save A Yorkie Rescue prefers to adopt only in the PA, NJ, western NY, DE, MD, VA, some CT area's. If you are in the NYC area or near Long Island, there is a Yorkie Rescue closer to you.

Be aware that you will be asked to drive to meet and pick up your dog.
