Lacie is available for adoption.

She is 6 months old and weighs 12 lbs.

Her adoption fee is $700.00.

Lacie is recouperating from her big fix on Monday.  Got herself "chipped" too so she doesn't get lost.

A note from Lacie:

I have come out of my shell....mom says I now fit in with the rest of the pack and am quite silly at times.  Still, no one really wants to play with me.  Sophie and Gabby "yap" at me, but Pepper is a little on the bully side and will instigate me to chase her and then run away in the other direction, or go hide behind dad's legs.  Oh, well, at least I have all my toys, which I love to take out and leave all over the house.  One thing I am trying to tell them, I do not like when you disappear from my sight.  If you do, I will go get your slipper, shoes, hat, anthing that is yours and take them into my bed with me....even if you just go outside.  At least I do not destroy anything, I'm good that way.  Just like to have your scent near me and I know you will be back. Mom says my potty habits are great, although I had a little accident today, but that was their fault, they didn't see me sitting by the door.  I love to go on walks but I must be the leader which they are telling me is not a good thing.  Walking by my human is a must and we are working on that.  I do know sit and stay (for about 5 seconds so far).  Treat time is great, but brushing my teeth is not my thing, especially since I am still teething and getting some new teeth.  I've met the "big" brown dog while camping recently, and he is BIG.  He kind of scared me but after I got to sniff his buttttttttttttt (we all do that you know) I realized he was just another pal to have around. Camping is fun, but everyone had to hear me bark when they went by, so I am getting lessons on "no bark".

Soon I will be ready to go to a new home and I hope I get someone that will let me cuddle, sleep with them, and take me outside for lots of walks (I have lots of energy).  Still hoping to see you apply for me, we could be really great friends.

Lacie is staying with Sue and John and their gang in Harrington, DE.

KEEP THESE FACTS IN MIND:
1. Yorkies do not usually get along well with small children and can be injured by small children, even ones who love them. Be aware of this and keep them apart. 2. Yorkies can be very difficult (nearly impossible) to housebreak. If you are gone for more than 3 hours at a time, the dog will have to have access to wee wee pads, or need someone to stop in to let him out to potty.
3. We almost NEVER get a puppy (less than one year old) in Yorkie Rescue. If only a puppy will do, check the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America website for a recommended breeder - never buy over the Internet, or from a newspaper ad or a petstore. The heartache you save will be immeasureable.
4. There is no such thing as a "teacup" Yorkie, so don't be misled by such a description. LEARN about the breed BEFORE you decide to adopt.
5. You will need to make arrangements to drive and meet the dog at the foster home which can be in New Jersey, western PA, Maryland,  etc. The dog's biography lists where the dog is fostering. We want you to meet the dog with your family and your dog, if you have one. This is a requirement for adoption.

WHAT IS THE ADOPTION FEE?
Adoption donations generally vary from dog to dog, it depends on the health, the age and the size of the dog.

Young Yorkies will have a higher adoption donation since they are the most highly sought after and they help to cover the costs of the older dogs who have a harder time finding a loving home. It is sad but true that people overwhelming demand very young dogs when they would be infinitely happier with a mellow adult.

 ADOPTION AREA

Save A Yorkie Rescue prefers to adopt only in the PA, NJ, western NY, DE, MD, VA, some CT area's. If you are in the NYC area or near Long Island, there is a Yorkie Rescue closer to you.

Be aware that you will be asked to drive to meet and pick up your dog.
