Prince of Lancaster is available for adoption. He is 6 years old and weighs 16 lbs. His adoption fee is $450.00. Prince has been both a champ and a skamp this week. No after surgery issues following his dental. Didn't even need the pain medication after the first full day of being home. The dental rinse prescribed has been a struggle. He just won't be still. Without a doubt, he'd win first prize in a wiggling, head shaking contest! He'll go back to the veterinarian on November 6 for a re-check and permission to start replacing canned food with kibble.
As to the skamp part, exploring the den trash can, jumping up on to a kitchen chair to check out the table and while no one was looking, grabbing a 1/2 sandwhich from my TV tray qualify him as a skamp. Like a toddler, he needs supervision. Left to his own devices he can get into mischief. Having a safe zone for him when all family members are out will be important.
Outside for potty is growing close to 100% and now he is signaling us to go out or, better yet, for a walk by talking and barking to get our attention. He is also improving on the sit command. Easily motivated by a treat, we think training him further to "stay" and "come" may be easier than with a non-food motivated dog. By far the best time this week, a Prince sloppy kiss wakeup call for my husband, Chuck! Watch for a new picture soon. We hope to have him groomed this week.
