Tiny Tot is one of our Forever Foster's. Will YOU sponsor Tiny Tot? A Forever Foster is a dog that is either older, has a medical condition or a socialization issue and seem to be unadoptable only because we receive no applications for these dogs thus we assume no one wants to adopt them. Save A Yorkie Rescue will not euthanize a dog for these reasons and the dogs remain in rescue to live out their lives with their forever foster family. Their remaining years (no matter what age they are) are spent being well taken care of and loved in their forever foster homes. Save A Yorkie Rescue pays for all of their vet bills, including all medications they may be on, grooming, food/treats if on a special diet and any supplies one of these dogs may need. Save A Yorkie Rescue is able to provide for our Forever Foster's, only through the generous donations we receive from all of the Yorkie lovers out there! If you would like to Sponsor one or more of our Forever Foster's, please send a donation through the Sponsor Button on the dog's web page or send a check to: Save A Yorkie Rescue, Inc., 526 N. St. Cloud St., #602, Allentown, PA 18104 Whatever way you make a donation to Sponsor one of our Forever Foster's, please include the dogs name with the donation you make and that you are Sponsoring that particular dog, so we can list your name on the dog's web page as his/her Sponsor. Here is little Tiny Tot....AKA Teddy, Teddy Bear....Mr. Rogers....
I have many more sweet names for him but these are my favorite! He is 15 years old (a conservative guess from the vet), 4.6lbs, blind and partially deaf. None of this stops him from being part of our family! Tiny knows where all the rooms are, knows where every dog bed is, can smell cooking from another room, and can tuck himself into bed at night. He manages to go under the blanket on the dog bed and sometimes actually goes Under the dog bed and goes to sleep.
When I get his harness he is over the moon happy!! As i am putting on his harness he is jumping for joy all over the couch....(is my apartment so boring? guess so!). We start off in the carriage because I have 2 yorkies of my own. He sits up in the carriage with his little face facing forward tongue sticking out the side of his mouth.
Once outside Tiny heads for any grass to jump around in. When we come back he gets a treat and he goes into his bed for a nap.
Tiny was found walking the streets of Harlem. Teeth falling out of his mouth and filthy. Someone just threw him away. The shelter called our rescue and we took him home.
He was so frightened when I picked him up and I could feel his little ribs sticking out of that tiny body. Now
his tail wags as soon as someone comes near. Anyone who pets him gets their hands licked to say "Thank you for loving me". He loves kisses and hugs and once on my lap he stays so still you can forget he is there.
He is looking for his forever home and will be a "forever foster".
If you have it in your heart to love Teddy for the rest of his years please call or text me and I will answer any questions or concerns you have.

Young Yorkies will have a higher adoption donation since they are the most highly sought after and they help to cover the costs of the older dogs who have a harder time finding a loving home. It is sad but true that people overwhelming demand very young dogs when they would be infinitely happier with a mellow adult.
