We picked up Madi the evening of August 15. Madi is a friendly loving female Yorkie puppy. She is quiet, we are not sure she barks yet or at all as we have not heard her chime in with out Zoee. Madi travels in the car like a charm. Madi is not house trained or at least fully house trained; she has had several mistakes. She appears intelligent and very well trainable using reward treats; she clearly understands immediate motivation. She has been sleeping in a crate with us the last two nights. Last night she was crated in our room and slept the night till our dog Zoee jumped down from bed and woke her up at 6:45 AM. We brought her outside and she took care of some business right away but it was 40 minutes later of walking did she take care of her other business. In today’s late morning walk she did much better and expected her reward. She had been recently used to being able to run in a fenced in yard and apparently got spoiled. She has a lot of energy and she needs to walk and play it off. We are working on her learning “sit” at this time. She does not appear to respond to any standard commands. We were told she responded to a few commands. This might change as she gets more comfortable though she already feels pretty comfortable if you ask us. She is not well trained for walking on a leash at this time. She is getting better quickly as I can see rapid improvement. She is getting used to walking the berm and not pulling. Time needs to be spent with her and it should be time well spent as she is such a charmer. She is easy going an plays with our two year old Yorkie-chon Zoee. Last night she joined us in our evening soccer game and played with Zoee and the small ball we pass around. That’s all we know about her at this time. She is lying on her new bedding beside me on the floor as I compose this note about her.
