Skidoo is 3.5 years old. His birthday was in August. He weighs 12-13 pounds, and is tall and lean. He is a bundle of energy! We have a full set of his vet records from the beginning and he seems to be very healthy.
He appears to be fully housebroken and he is crate trained. He knows his name, and responds to it. We haven't identified what other commands he knows yet. He came with a few toys, and seems to love his tennis ball best. He loves going for a walk, but does pull on the leash.
His foster brother is an 8 year old yorkie named Teddy who is extremely mellow. They are getting along fine; Skidoo wants Teddy to play with him, Teddy doesn't really play, so Skidoo is barking at him occasionally to get his attention...it's kind of funny. When his harness is on, he sees that as a signal to go for a walk and he gets very excited. We don't have any experience about how he would do with a cat.
He probably needs some training, and would probably do really well with agility training. He can jump quite high! He likes being with his people and getting belly rubs. He will bark at your when he wants your attention. He is quite curious and has explored everything in the house ... multiple times! We will share more updates as we learn more about him. He is vacationing in Marlton, NJ, with Kathy, Leo, and Teddy, so put your application in now! Young Yorkies will have a higher adoption donation since they are the most highly sought after and they help to cover the costs of the older dogs who have a harder time finding a loving home. It is sad but true that people overwhelming demand very young dogs when they would be infinitely happier with a mellow adult.
