Lucky Charm is available for adoption.

He is 7 months old and weighs 4.5 lbs.

His adoption fee is $600.00.

Lucky Charm is the happies puppy you would want to meet! A real live Yorkie puppy. Just 7 months old and 4.5 pounds. He plays and loves and zooms - just what a puppy should do.

His  foster mom has been practicing with him every day and he is responding extremely well. He is learning to be a good dog - to sit, to come and to stop when told "No".  He is a super smart pup and he catches on quickly. He is doing very well with his housetraining. He walks very well on a leash and he sits on command.

He gets very excited to eat – jumping like a little jumping bean as his foster mom prepares his food. Once the food is ready he sits like a good boy until the food is put down. He is still in that puppy discovery phase and is exploring everything with his mouth. No flip flop on the floor of the house is safe from Mr. Lucky. His foster mom bought him a variety of chew toys to teach him what he is allowed to chew on. Lucky sleeps in bed with his foster mom and dad at night. He plays hard during the day and crashes when its bedtime - he sleeps through the night not making a single peep.

He is extremely affectionate – he loves giving kisses and he likes to sit on your lap when he is finally ready to relax.

Lucky gets along  with the other dogs in the house. He could play with them all day if they had the energy to keep up with him.  Lucky has no meanness in him, he is just a baby who needs an active family with dog experience who can start him on the road to being a disciplined, trained, and obedient dog. That's why we say he needs lots of training and socialization.

Lucky currently walks 2 miles a day with his foster mom so an active person that enjoys walking and that is home most of the day to continue potty/obedience training this adorable little boy would be a good fit.

He is vacationing with Carol in Burlington, NJ   What a treasure!  What ARE you waiting for?  He is right there and ready for a great family - if you have the time, and love to be out walking, this is the Yorkie for you.

KEEP THESE FACTS IN MIND:
1. Yorkies do not usually get along well with small children and can be injured by small children, even ones who love them. Be aware of this and keep them apart. 2. Yorkies can be very difficult (nearly impossible) to housebreak. If you are gone for more than 3 hours at a time, the dog will have to have access to wee wee pads, or need someone to stop in to let him out to potty.
3. We almost NEVER get a puppy (less than one year old) in Yorkie Rescue. If only a puppy will do, check the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America website for a recommended breeder - never buy over the Internet, or from a newspaper ad or a petstore. The heartache you save will be immeasureable.
4. There is no such thing as a "teacup" Yorkie, so don't be misled by such a description. LEARN about the breed BEFORE you decide to adopt.
5. You will need to make arrangements to drive and meet the dog at the foster home which can be in New Jersey, western PA, Maryland,  etc. The dog's biography lists where the dog is fostering. We want you to meet the dog with your family and your dog, if you have one. This is a requirement for adoption.

WHAT IS THE ADOPTION FEE?
Adoption donations generally vary from dog to dog, it depends on the health, the age and the size of the dog.

Young Yorkies will have a higher adoption donation since they are the most highly sought after and they help to cover the costs of the older dogs who have a harder time finding a loving home. It is sad but true that people overwhelming demand very young dogs when they would be infinitely happier with a mellow adult.

 ADOPTION AREA

Save A Yorkie Rescue prefers to adopt only in the PA, NJ, western NY, DE, MD, VA, some CT area's. If you are in the NYC area or near Long Island, there is a Yorkie Rescue closer to you.

Be aware that you will be asked to drive to meet and pick up your dog.
