“It’s ALL good.”  That is Zoe’s motto.

No matter if the food was stale and the water had a bug floating in it, Zoe never complained.  When no one came home for many hours every day and she was so lonely,   she didn’t growl when they opened the door, but ran sweetly outside to take care of business.  "It's all good," says Zoe.

A treat that lands under the refrigerator, a toy with a broken squeaker, a cold rainy day… everyone else could find fault, but not Zoe.  If a dog could smile, Zoe would.  Her sunny disposition sparkles so brightly, you have to grin when you meet her. If a homeless dog who has lost everything can inspire others to such an optimistic outlook, how can we complain when the coffee’s cold or the toothpaste tube is empty?  “It’s ALL good.”

So we added a twist to Zoe’s name.  Because, to her, EVERYTHING’s ok.  It’s ok.

For us -  It’s Zoe Kay – get it?  Zoe is the one who doesn’t complain when life hands her lemons – she makes lemonade. Consider that Zoe just lost everything and everyone she has ever known.  Her family – GONE!  Her home – GONE!  Most of us would be huddled in a corner, whining in desperation.  Not Zoe!  She is finding the good parts in her new life. She is an easy sweet little girl.

Zoe is vacationing with other dogs  – and loving them!  Cats?  Who doesn’t love a nice cat, Zoe asks.

She LOVES lots of attention! Got time to scratch her ears?  She’s first in line.  Ready to snuggle?  Zoe is ready when you are.  Going for a walk?  Zoe has her Sketchers on and she’s rarin’ to go.

And CAR RIDES!  Hoo Boy, NOW you’re singing HER song.  She’s a pick up kind of girl who loves the trucks. She’ll ride shotgun all the way to the ice cream store.   “It’s ALL good!” (That’s Zoe with a dab of strawberry on her nose).

Zoe will happily take what you give her and smile her thanks. No whining, no bitching, no asking for bigger diamond studs, a new iphone, a showy car – whatever you give is just what she likes. She’ll be happy to sleep next to your bed, just as any good dog should.

That’s not to say Zoe hasn’t suffered. She really needed a bath to feel clean and sweet smelling. Her teeth were so neglected; she was in pain and didn’t enjoy eating any more. That problem is all gone. Now she comes running with all the others and enjoys the tasty delights her foster mom prepares.

It’s Zoe Kay, the happy girl. The Yorkie who sees only love, even where others see nothing but sadness. She is our little treasure, our Sunshine Girl. You may be the one who gets to call her yours. If you are home most of the time to share her favorite TV shows, she'll let you hold the remote. Zoe is the real deal - a delightful, easy, loving Yorkie girl.  Where are you, Mom? Get your application in today or you will be too late to claim her and make her your Yorkie.

KEEP THESE FACTS IN MIND:
1. Yorkies do not usually get along well with small children and can be injured by small children, even ones who love them. Be aware of this and keep them apart. 2. Yorkies can be very difficult (nearly impossible) to housebreak. If you are gone for more than 3 hours at a time, the dog will have to have access to wee wee pads, or need someone to stop in to let him out to potty.
3. We almost NEVER get a puppy (less than one year old) in Yorkie Rescue. If only a puppy will do, check the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America website for a recommended breeder - never buy over the Internet, or from a newspaper ad or a petstore. The heartache you save will be immeasureable.
4. There is no such thing as a "teacup" Yorkie, so don't be misled by such a description. LEARN about the breed BEFORE you decide to adopt.
5. You will need to make arrangements to drive and meet the dog at the foster home which can be in New Jersey, western PA, Maryland,  etc. The dog's biography lists where the dog is fostering. We want you to meet the dog with your family and your dog, if you have one. This is a requirement for adoption.

WHAT IS THE ADOPTION FEE?
Adoption donations generally vary from dog to dog, it depends on the health, the age and the size of the dog.

Young Yorkies will have a higher adoption donation since they are the most highly sought after and they help to cover the costs of the older dogs who have a harder time finding a loving home. It is sad but true that people overwhelming demand very young dogs when they would be infinitely happier with a mellow adult.

 ADOPTION AREA

Save A Yorkie Rescue prefers to adopt only in the PA, NJ, western NY, DE, MD, VA, some CT area's. If you are in the NYC area or near Long Island, there is a Yorkie Rescue closer to you.

Be aware that you will be asked to drive to meet and pick up your dog.
