Bentlie Bentlie was adopted on Wednesday to Joe Buser, a first time adopter and new volunteer! Joe drove down from Bethlehem PA to meet Bentlie and it was love at first sight. Joe was so sweet with Bentlie, he got right down on the ground to play with him. Bentlie was loving all the attention and quickly forgot I was even there. Joe stayed overnight with friends close by and picked up Bentlie to head home Thursday morning. Joe doesnât have any other dogs so Bentlie will be the king of the castle. Joe seems like he will be a wonderful forever home for Bentlie and a great volunteer for SAY Rescue. Joe even agreed to drive another foster here in Virginia to his new foster home in PA. Iâve received lots of pictures and updates from Joe and it sounds like Bentlie is getting along great. Bentlie just wants to be with his person and Joe is the perfect fit for him. Joe works from home and plans to take Bentlie everywhere he goes and he said no wraps or crates ever again. I told him Bentlie could have an accident in the house, he told me thereâs nothing in the house that canât be replaced except Bentlie ð Congratulations Bentlie!!!
Bambino Bambino Scores a Run with a Winning Forever Family Bambino, now officially BamBam, met his forever family on Saturday, October 17, 2020. Debbie and Fred arrived promptly at 11 AM and Debbie was prepared with toys and treats. What great toys she had for BamBam! He was immediately in love with this lady who brought him the best soft bunny and soft purple ball to play with AND got down on the floor to play. What Yorkie wouldn't be in heaven. After lots of play time, the treats were brought out and shared all around with our two dogs who had patiently looked on while BamBam stole the show. Then, it was time to walk off the treats and whatever energy was left. After a nice walk, we had a dental rinse demo and were all "minty fresh" as BamBam shook his head and shared the rinse with us! Following that adventure, the dogs took a snooze while the people reviewed the Adoption Agreement, looked at the contents of the SAYR tote and inspected different types of doggie jackets and coats Once all was finished, BamBam's blanket, bed and a toy or two were collected for the ride home to Maryland. Fred clipped the leash on BamBam and down the driveway he went without a backward glance. BamBam made the trip home with no problems even having a shopping trip detour at PetSmart on the way. He's reported to be carefully inspecting his new home and yard and shadowing Fred. We know he's going to be running the house in no time, getting lots of great play time and cuddling up with his new found forever family. Another contented SAYR Yorkie living the life with people who cared enough to Adopt not Shop. Congratulations Bambino!!!
Benjamin Benjamin is at his furever home with Barry and Pat. They thought they wanted a little girl Yorkie, but Benjamin stole their heart. Smart Yorkie parents that they are, they arrived with a new soft squeaky toy and immediately won Benjamin's heart! Barry and Pat played with Benjamin and enjoyed his quick lap drive-bys so he could give kisses. While Julia and Pat started the paperwork, Benjamin, Barry and Chuck went for a quick walk. Once the papers were in order, we took a quick picture, loaded up the Explorer with Benjamin's belongings, being sure to send him off with his favorite old toys and his new toy as well. Barry put Benjamin's bed in the backseat, lifted Benjamin up into the Explorer and they were off. About two hours later, Benjamin was checking out his new territory and proved us right that he traveled well. We wish Barry and Pat many years of enjoyment watching Benjamin's antics and being the lucky recipients of the kisses, he just must share! Congratulations Benjamin!!!
Blizzard Blizzard met his new mom and dad on Monday and it was love at first sight immediately. He is adjusting very well and loves all of the attention. We miss him very much. Congratulations Blizzard!!!
Breezie On Thursday evening the Scalora family traveled almost 2 hours each way, in the rain, to meet Breezie! All five of them came in and we exchanged hello's and introductions while I was holding Breezie (I had already explained to them that she will be apprehensive at first). There were lots of ooh's and ahh's going on! Mario and Tricia's son, Sal was in charge of a super excited Winston, their four-legged son, who could not wait to meet Breezie; but she was playing hard to get. We all sat on the floor and of course Breezie was on my lap while we talked all about her. I suggested to their daughter, Olivia to reach for the bag of treats on the counter and Breezie had a new best friend, soon she was on Olivia's lap. It was mentioned that their daughter is their dog whisperer and plans to become a vet. I thought to myself, I sure hope that Breezie makes a good impression on them because this is a fantastic, animal loving family! As we talked more, Mario said they already had Breezie signed up for an obedience course with Olivia and they were going to enroll her in the same insurance plan as Winston. They know it will take time for her to acclimate in her new home...they kept saying everything that I needed to hear. I think they were sent from God just for Breezie! This wonderful family is exactly what Breezie needs to become a confident and a well-adjusted pup! They still had a long ride home, so Mario asked Olivia, "Do you think she is the one?" and without hesitation, Olivia said YES! We then did paperwork and went over all the records we were sending along with Breezie. We were getting ready for the picture when I heard Olivia say to her mom, "We are just shy of celebrating her first birthday!" and Tricia piped up,"We can always do a belated birthday party!" Tom and I said our goodbye's (me with lots of tears and Tom with an aching heart) and told Breezie how much we loved her and that she will have a wonderful life! We couldn't be happier for this sweet little girl and the Scalora family said we can come to visit her anytime! Olivia and Mario both texted me pictures of Breezie when they finally arrived home. One was of Breezie beside Winston after they went out together to potty and the other was of Breezie sitting on Olivia's lap as they were watching TV. That warmed my heart! Her new name is Phoebe. Congratulations Breezie as you were known in rescue!!! Click a letter to find an animal or view all.
