Tabbi

Great news once again I failed as a Save A Yorkie Rescue Fosfer Parent. The connection we both have is rewarding. Within a few weeks Tabbi selected us for her family including her step Yorkie brothers Gii and Max. Congratulations Tabbi!!!

Griffin

Griffin came to me with a resiliency that is nothing short of amazing. Though he didn’t have much of an appetite for food those first couple weeks, he had a voracious appetite for love and affection. A few days into our foster, he joined me for my annual family beach vacation with 14 family members under one roof for a week. Griffin saw it as nothing more than 28 new hands to pet him and 14 laps to cuddle upon. By the end of the week, not only was I in love, but 13 others were, too. They would have clobbered me if I even considered giving him away. He was home! He walks me around the Marine Corps Memorial every week day morning and all over Rehoboth every weekend. This little guy loves a road trip! He’s a big hit at outdoor Saturday morning yoga and makes everyone smile when he imitates my downward dog. Yappy hour is another one of Griffin’s favorite activities- you can find him making friends and enjoying doggie “ice cream” treats all over Arlington and Alexandria. We’re working on socialization with other dogs by attending at least one small dog meetup a week. So far he’s not too interested in the 4 legged attendees, but loves their people! He’s territorial about his yard and driveway. He’ll bark up a storm if another dog tries to come toward his castle. Even the biggest dogs cower when they hear that fierce roar - I don’t think either of them know he’s only 6 pounds. My Little Man is six pounds of loyalty, adoration & affection! Every single day is better with Grifferoni! We’re in a mission to make up for the 6.5 year we didn’t have each other. And, I think we’re off to a pretty good start. Congratulations Griffin!!!

Miranda

Miranda (Randa, Rae Rae) has found her forever home and it was a lot closer than she imagined. A few days after Theresa came back from vacation, she welcomed her new foster, Miranda. She was just released from her surgery and Ted E, Maura and Marley the cat, all helped with her with her recovery. Unbeknownst to all she stole their hearts. There is something special about her, the way she dances on her to back legs and the happiness that radiates from her. She came to SAYR as a stray from New York, the Vet believes she has had at least two litters in her lifetime, a broken elbow that was never treated and healed improperly, and a small piece missing from her tongue, as well as five mammary tumors removed which were all benign. Theresa proceeded with prospective candidates for Miranda. Ted E had other plans. In the short time Theresa had Miranda, she had bonded with Ted E. Maura and Marley the Cat all welcomed her to the bed they share with their fur Mom. Theresa could not imagine life without her “tiny dancer”. Mornings now start with Ted E, Maura and Miranda playing in bed, kissing their Mom repeatedly and jumping all over her, and Theresa would not have it any other way. Congratulations Miranda!!!

Kalie

Kalie has been adopted by Susan and Lori. They came fully prepared to meet this little girl, bringing along healthy treats and even packed a raincoat for Kalie due to the chance of rain in the forecast. Kalie comfortably enjoyed each of their laps sharing kisses as they became acquainted. She is already enjoying nice walks, lots of playtime with her squeaky toys and has a perfect spot to keep an eye on everything going on in the back yard. Foster Mom had lots of tears for this little girl but knows she will be forever loved and cherished. Congratulations sweet Kalie!!!

Gustin

Craig and Mac came to the house with their dog Cinnamon July 18th for a meet and greet. After a few oooohh’s, aaahhh’s by the Brands’ and an exchange of sniffs by Cinny and Gus; Gus walked over to Mac and let her pet him. He gave her fingers a little lick. Cinnamon was over the top with excitement. We took a short walk around the block and I turned the lead over to Mac. My symbolic letting go. Gus walked like a gentleman while Cinny sniffed everything in site. He was glad to be out of the car. Gus was just enjoying walk. I think he knew this would be the new norm. Congratulations Gustin!!!
