Banditt Banditt has been adopted by a wonderful couple in PA, the Todaroâs, who will make him the prince that he deserves to be. His adopters previously adopted through SAYR but Chase recently passed away and they felt the time was right to open their hearts to another rescue dog. Banditt initially did not get along with his foster siblings, Lucy and Teddy, but over time he learned to tolerate and then to happily live and play with them. The Todaro family would eventually like to adopt another dog but will give Banditt the time he needs to adjust to his new life. This was foster mom Nancy Myersâ first dog to foster, which proved to be challenging initially, but she shed tears as Banditt and his new parents drove away. Best wishes for Banditt and his mom and dad. We will miss you Banditt! Congratulations Banditt!!!
Pixzee The Toth Family lost their 2 Yorkies at the age of 16 last Fall. One of them was adopted years ago from SAYR. They decided it was time to rescue a new friend. After adoption approval and some emails and a few phone conversations, they met Pixzee. She is active, playful and a great companion! Pixzee was just the type of Yorkie the Toths were hoping for. After their meet and greet on Sunday, we all decided they were a great match. Pixzee is getting used to her new home where she has a wonderful, spacious fenced in yard to zoom around. As the only dog in their home, Pixzee is being treated like the princess she is! High âPawsâ all around! Congratulations Pixzee!!!
Skittles The LoVarco family had been approved in February to adopt a needy dog from SAYR, and it wasn't long before dream dog, Skittles, caught their eye. Yesterday, with tail wagging and a heart full of joy, Skittles finally had a meet and greet with this loving family. His playful and affectionate personality shined through, and he and the LoVarcos formed an instant connection. It wasn't long before we all knew that this was the perfect match and the adoption was finalized. Now Skittles, aka Ollie, will spend his days surrounded by love in his forever home, receiving all the attention he ever dreamed of. Here's to happy endings and new beginnings! Two hearts Dog face. Congratulations Skittles!!!
William William has officially adopted us as his family and will now be known by his given name of Westly! We did not set out to be foster failures but sometimes it cannot be helped. This boy has changed the dynamic of our family. Westly has managed to bond with our SAYR pup, Frisco who is usually indifferent to other dogs; they spend the day together on the chair looking out the window being the neighborhood watch committee. Westly also acts as a guide for our blind Sammy who often gets left behind in the back yard. Westly is the best snuggle boy for the two-legged family members. He will stay for snuggles even after the belly rubs have ceased! The grandkids are in love with him as he will walk and play all day long!
Dasher It has been 5 months since we first met Dasher/Toby. He has been a joy and a challenge. He is full of energy and so much fun to watch on our walks. He does not walk, he trots, you are certain to get a workout keeping up. He has his usual stops along the way, greeting and getting attention from his favorite neighbors. His surgery went well and the recovery too. The incisions are barely noticeable. If only his hair would catch up now. We have a grooming appointment on Saturday to get a summer cut that should help. Some of the biggest challenges were the worry over the hernia and the recovery, the set-back in poddy training after the surgery and some temper tantrums. We are happy to report, we are back to being almost 100% on the housetraining, although the rainy, windy days can be a little more difficult, he still does not like the rain. We have had temperament challenges with Dasher too. I believe some of them may have come from his previous environment and a loss of patience with him for one reason or another, he had so many changes in where his home was and a loss of security. He was very particular about when and where he was touched. He was sometimes food and toy aggressive. He would growl & snap for no reason at all. There were times we wondered if he would ever settle in and feel safe & secure and at other times he seemed right at home. He slowly warmed up to his foster brother, Teddie. They would play tug with a toy or chase each other. They would nap near each other and eventually on the same bed. We have had success in so many things. While Dasher still has been a little work in progress, he has been a blessing for Teddie who was so lost after losing his buddy last July. His anxiety level was through the roof, and he could not sleep most nights, he would pace and roam the house as if he were looking for her. Dasher has resolved these things for Teddie. They share food and toys (most of the time) lol. They sleep together and play together. Teddieâs anxiety is gone. They even zoomie together when one of us comes in after being gone for a bit. He has become very comfortable in his environment. Dasher loves to explore in the yard and will even walk/run through grass, leaves & even puddles. He loves to give my husband kisses (must be the beard?) for no reason, I get them too. He growls a lot less often and it is now more of a grumble, the snappiness on occasion is half hearted and more of a little head jerk. He does not like you to touch him when he is sleeping and 9pm is his bedtime. He lets us know exactly when that is, I swear he can read the clock. So, of this and so much more, he has become our fur baby, part of our hearts, we cannot let him go and must make him our first foster fail. Click a letter to find an animal or view all.
