Buddy Elf is available for adoption.
He is 5 years old and weighs 9 lbs. His adoption fee is $400.00. Buddy Elf was very bewildered...he was left at the shelter and locked in a cage. What did he do??? Poor boy was feeling sooo sick...diarrhea, vomiting, very dehydrated, ugh...no one seemed to care. All he could do was lay there and listen to all the people talking and all the dogs barking...he felt like he was at the end of his line. Then there was a turn of events...people were looking in his cage...talking about him...then he heard the latch on his cage door click and they were taking him out of the cage and putting him in a small travel crate that was nicely padded. He could see them going to another cage and getting another dog that cried out when they lifted him out of his cage, he thought it might be a broken leg and they put him into another larger travel crate that was next to him. This is when his luck changed and Save A Yorkie Rescue stepped in...there were two nice men I think I heard them called Ernie and Rick that were talking to the shelter workers, they said they were representatives of SAY Rescue and they were there for the 2 Yorkies and then they turned around and picked up the two crates that contained myself and another dog they called Bently. We drove for a couple of hours in the pouring rain, I heard the 2 men talking and saying it was really foggy out...but the 2 men knew they had to get us to the vet before they closed at 8PM...I was feeling awful and Bently was in a lot of pain with his broken leg. Well without a moment to spare they drove their SUV up to the Animal Hospital at exactly 8 PM. A wonderful Doctor named Dr Julie examined me, did blood work, did x rays, gave me medicine and gave me fluids, I was starting to feel a little better...very quickly. She put me in a cage and I went to sleep. I heard that Dr Julie did not leave the Animal Hospital until well after 10:00 PM, because she also examined, did x rays, administered pain meds, and prepped my friend Bently who drove over to the Animal Hospital with me, for the Orthopedic Doctor, Dr Milden to see him the next day. The blood work showed that I had Pancretitis and Dr Julie treated me with fluids and the proper medication and appropriate food. I stayed at the Animal Hospital for 3 days and I feel soooo much better...they said I can go home at this point but I no longer have a home...I was left at the shelter... A nice lady and man came and picked me up from the Animal Hospital and they explained that they were my foster mom and dad and they would take very good care of me until they find my wonderful forever home. This is the start of my new journey in life. Buddy Elf is new in Rescue and so far I know he is a sweet 5 year old boy that loves to go on walks, play chase the ball when you throw it for him, would love to be in an only dog household (but he gets along with other dogs) and have someone around all day with him because he doesn’t like being left alone. Buddy is 9 pounds of pure joy. He will need obedience training, would love a fenced in yard and he enjoys riding in the car with you. He becomes very attached to his people very quickly, loves to eat and he sleeps through the night. He will make a great addition to the right home for him Buddy Elf is vacationing in Voorhees, NJ with Kathy and her gang. Young Yorkies will have a higher adoption donation since they are the most highly sought after and they help to cover the costs of the older dogs who have a harder time finding a loving home. It is sad but true that people overwhelming demand very young dogs when they would be infinitely happier with a mellow adult.
