Sweet William is available for adoption. Sweet William is about 1.3 pounds and about 6 years old. Sweet William's adoption donation is $350. He was found matted, dirty, and scared wandering sadly in a small town in Virginia. After a few days someone picked him up and took him to the local shelter. Once there, they shaved him down to remove all the mats (wish they hadn't been so efficient with the clippers) and gave him a bath. Don't worry, his hair will grow back quickly! Just you wait and see - in a few weeks he will sprout such pretty golden hair. Sweet William lives up to his name, he loves people and attention. He just follows them around and wants to be carried, and they are happy to do just that! He does have an abnormality with his lower jaw which requires that he be fed good quality canned food with a bit of warm water. He has thrived on his 'yogurt'. He prefers if you sit with him while he dines. He has gained enough so that he can be neutered this week. How about it - are you looking for a little lover who wants to be your best bud? He can go everywhere, he is so small. He truly is a sweetheart who seems to handle whatever challenges that life has thrown at him. He's neither timid nor helpless and navigates his way around the house, including stairs, with confidence.
He can keep up with his much larger Yorkie brothers and is not shy about barking when he crosses paths with the cat. He's excited to be with you and especially loves a warm lap to curl up in. He also has no problem curling up in his crate where he spends his nights. He eats voraciously when given his favorite entree. Right now he's eating small amounts of a high protein food as often as he's willing throughout the day (3-4 times). He also manages to scarf down broken pieces of soft treats. He's a glass half full kind of guy who just wants the security of knowing he has a loving, forever home. Update-Sweet William continues to be true to his name…a truly sweet little boy. His foster mom says he is doing well and is “filling out”.
