Rexy is available for adoption.
He is 3 years old and weighs 8 lbs. His adoption fee is $500.00. This little guy is a charmer. He is all-around boy! He loves to be outside in the yard, taking walks, or on the side porch watching the wildlife…deer, birds, squirrels. SQURRELS!!! He sits at the back glass door scouting them out. He loves to sit at that door. He is wearing a Puppy Bumper while in the yard since, if he really, really, wanted to, he could squeeze through our fence slots after those squirrels. This as a nice 2nd line of defense! He waits patiently at the door for me to slip it on.
But Rexy is also the best snuggler, whether you are taking a nap, or settling down for an evening in your favorite chair. Rexy is there and ready to settle in. Every evening he bounds up the stairs with the other dogs and settles into his crate next to my bedside. I am certain he would be a perfect gentleman sleeping in his human’s bed, but since his foster people already have 2 dogs on the bed at night, Mr. Human has put his foot down as far as the number of dogs on the bed! But Rexy is a good sport about it, sleeps through the night and patiently waits to be let out in the morning.
He is still very reactionary on the leash, so we are working on that. If no other dogs come in to view he is a real walker and does very well on the leash! Rexy is a people lover, too! Mr. Friendly!
Although all three dogs get along for the most part, I can see he struggles a bit not to be the Alpha dog. He wants to be first down the steps or out the door. Would love to see him with a nice securely fenced backyard, and possibly as an only dog getting all the attention as he gives his all to you!
Rexy is staying with Robin in Chesterfield, VA. More about RexyGood with Dogs Save A Yorkie Rescue, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) qualified non-profit organization operating on donations from Yorkie lovers who care. Please help by donating your tax deductible donations. OR mail your check or money order to YOUR generosity is appreciated! Young Yorkies will have a higher adoption donation since they are the most highly sought after and they help to cover the costs of the older dogs who have a harder time finding a loving home. It is sad but true that people overwhelming demand very young dogs when they would be infinitely happier with a mellow adult. ADOPTION AREA Save A Yorkie Rescue prefers to adopt only in the PA, NJ, western NY, DE, MD, VA, some CT area's. If you are in the NYC area or near Long Island, there is a Yorkie Rescue closer to you. |
