Poor Bud. He was the apple of his mother's eye - she loved him dearly all of his life and he grew up with her 3 children. Until she went to Heaven without him. Of course her three grown children swore to "Mom" that one of them would keep Bud for as long as he lived. But as soon as Mom was buried, they had to do something about Bud. None of them could take him in, they said. "Mom" would be sad if she knew they had given him away after their solemn vow to her.
It is the reason we don't place young dogs with senior citizens. If something should happen to them - the dog loses its home - no matter if there are grown children swearing on the Bible that one of them will keep the dog. It doesn't happen. We have seen it over and over. So now we have Little Bud - Dearest of All. He is bewildered to say the least. But he is learning and adapting and struggling to go on without his beloved mom. He is eating and has had no problem with the other dogs in the house. He has uncharacteristically long legs for a Yorkie but that just makes him more unique and lovable. Of course we know - YOU want a young dog. To have it around a long time. Why else would you get a dog? How about to save one? To give a dog a place to live and be loved for the time he has left? Bud isn't going to run you ragged playing ball and hiking. He'll enjoy TV with you and going for a ride. He'll cuddle with you while you sleep and he'll snooze while you are out. As rescuers, we know. Older dogs make the very BEST pets. Please, would you give Little Bud the home that his mom promised him? Bud has forgiven them. We want him to have all the happiness he can find now. He deserves better. If you are reading this it is because you care about dogs, Yorkies in particular, and you want to save one. Well here he is. You don't have to read any further. Put in your application and we'll get Bud all cleaned up and pack his toys. He's ready to come home now.
