Rudy Tootie Today was such a bittersweet day for me and mom. Rudy was going to meet his forever mommy and daddy. I have known from the beginning with all of the emails, text messages and pictures shared that this couple had made up their mind early on that my lucky little boy who came to me in a heat wave was going to be their forever fur baby. What validated my feelings that this was going to be the one was not until many emails later did I get to understand that the daddy was a professional pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies. His fiance's a sweet and caring young lady and an avid animal lover. She was so determined to have Rudy for her own. Kristen and Cole arrived at my home and she scooped him up and started to just hug him. Cole was smiling ear to ear and they both were just so happy to be able to hold him knowing they could leave with Rudy. As this was my first successful adoption I can not explain how happy and sad at the same time I was but knowing how anxious and excited they have been made it easier to let him go. I have received many video and pictures since they left. Rockey actually put his paws on the field at Citizen Bank Park already. A Phillies boy he will be! I feel honored and blessed to volunteer for a very caring organization that brings joy to a family looking for a forever baby. Congratulations Rudy Tootie!!!
Rilie Rilie has found her forever home. Thanks to Dakota for giving her a loving home and lots of belly rubs. She had a visit to the pet store and picked out a squeaky unicorn and dog chew. She went to a doggy birthday party and met 5 dogs and had a fun time. Rilie is getting to know Washington, DC and Dakotas house - she knows which direction to go from the dog park and on her walks (a work in progress). She loves to get Dakotas attention to be picked up for attention with her little bark. Congratulations Rilie!!!
Ruby Red Ruby & Ozzy were adopted by Steve & Lynn last Saturday. They lost their baby boy Chase to a rare cancer at only 7 just a few months ago. Ozzy & Ruby have immediately filled a whole in their hearts & they already love the bonded pair so much. As soon as they walked in the door, they both got right down in the floor with the dogs. Ruby & Ozzy went right to them like them had known them forever, it was heartwarming. They have a lovely home with a big yard. Lynn will be home with the dogs most days which is great because little Ruby is no fan on her crate. They are working on training and our own Rita Stanley who has been kind enough to help. I think this pair is going to have a wonderful forever home with Steve & Lynn. We are very happy for them but Sara & I sure do miss them â¹ Congratulations Ruby Red!!!
Rockee Rockee (now Coco) reached the final stop on his tumultuous journey to finding his forever home when he met Norma and Rich. They were approved in January and have been watching the SAYR website faithfully ever since, waiting to find the perfect dog for them. Well, good things come to those who wait! It may take a little time for this shy, sweet pup to feel like heâs finally home, but Norma and Rich have the time, patience and so much love to give him. So, settle in, little guy, and enjoy those turkey bacon treats that Norma promised you! Congratulations Rockee!!!
Rexy Sylvia and Bob arrived Saturday at 10 a.m., having spent the previous night in Fredericksburg, VA cutting the drive time of their 6 hour trip from upstate PA. Before they even got in the front door, our little âÂÂBeanâ (aka Rexy) was certainly living up to his nickname and jumping up and down like a kangaroo as if to say, âÂÂWelcome! welcome! So glad you could make it!â It was obvious Sylvia (Sam) and Bob were instantly taken with this lovely little man. We visited for about 2 hours, swapping stories about Rexy and their previous Yorkies. Congratulations Rexy!!! Click a letter to find an animal or view all.
