Tiny Dancer

Tiny Dancer came to us as a foster on Thursday May 21, 2020. We picked her up at Brainard Airport Hartford, after she had been flown from Lancaster PA by Pilots for Paws volunteer sky pilot Robert Laskin. Tiny had weighed in at 4.5lbs when she was found on a street by the Lancaster ASPCA shelter on May 9th 2020. Three weeks later, after receiving attention, love and nutritious meals, Tiny weighed 5.8lbs at her first CT Vet visit on May 30, 2020. She and step-brother Willy shared us and our home for seven weeks, when Willy was adopted by his forever family in mid-July. Since then Tiny has been the House Princess. She loves to be hugged, and eat her favorite meals and snacks. Tiny is also a good sleeper. Tiny is catching on to her Bully chewie stick, and is a very tight shadow for Lynn much of the time. Tiny is a very affectionate puppy and loves to have neck and back rubs. Her couch time has been curtailed since August 19th when she had her spay procedure, from which she is recovering nicely. Following a few more recovery days, Tiny will be comfortable with us again picking her up and back on her favorite couch. This little girl has come a long way since May 9th! Congratulations Tiny Dancer!!!

Toebee

Tobee was adopted on August 2. Pat came from the Rochester NY area with her daughter and son-in-law to meet him. Pat lost her beloved Felix not long ago and she was looking for a new love on which to devote her time and attention. Tobee is an incredible boy who is sweet, loving and well mannered. He was surrendered because his owner could no longer spend the time he so much deserves. Pat and Tobee are now spending their days together walking the property, playing with toys, and snuggling on the couch in the evening. I know Pat will give him all the love, time and attention he wants and deserves. Congratulations Tobee!

Rex

Rex had his meet and greet with Lorraine and Woody on Monday, August 9th at 1 pm. I met them outside with Rex and introductions were made. Their dog Baylee was very friendly and tolerant of Rex sniffing her from head to toe!! After greeting Baylee his tail began to wag. He went to Lorraine and let her pet him on the back. After we were all comfortable with each other we came in to chat for a little while. We all took seats in my living room. I usually sit on the floor in front of the coffee table to assist in paperwork and allow the dog to sit with me while we work if necessary. Rex stayed close to me but did interact with Lorraine. We placed Rex on the loveseat next to Lorraine and she began petting him. After a few minutes I asked if ‘this was the one?’ She said yes I believe so. We pulled out the paperwork and began going through the adoption agreement. She had a pen in one hand and was petting Rex’s head. Res was leaning heavily towards her with his ‘Rexy lean!’ She could barely sign all the papers because he kept nudging her had for “more pets please!” while Baylee sniffed every inch of my living room! Rex was a little shy but given what he has been through it is understandable. He is such a sweet and quiet little man, so loving and polite. As we gathered up his bed, blanket and goodie bag I felt that familiar tug at my heart. Rex fell right in with my pack. There was never any ‘arguing’ over food, treats or people. There was only acceptance and love from all involved. I knew it was going to be hard to let him go but I know he needs a home where he can be the king (and Baylee can be the queen.) The Trice’s are wonderful people and I know Rex will settle in once he understands this is his new home. He did tug at the leash and follow Lorraine to the truck as she put away his things before placing him in the car to ride to his furever home. Congratulations Rex!!!

Dickins

Drooper & Dickens were adopted today. Jackie McGill came down from New Jersey to meet the boys and of course feel in love 😊 Jackie is a single retired teacher with lots of love to give. She loved the idea of two dogs so a bonded pair seemed like a no brainer. She was also looking for older dogs, so these two 10 year olds were the perfect fit. Drooper & Dickens are best friends, super sweet and cute as can be. They love to snuggle together in their bed, groom each other and run around in the yard. Their owner had to surrender them because he was going into a nursing facility but I know he would be pleased with their forever home. While Sara and I had the boys, they had several dental extractions, they each lost 1.5# and we were able to clear up Drooper’s skin issues. They are now healthy, happy and ready to live their best life! Jackie couldn’t be more excited to adopt them and was quick to jump in her car and come down when their original adoption fell through. I know she will give them an amazing home and they will all be very happy together! Congratulations Dickins!!!
