Kaleigh Well, the tears are flowing! Kaleigh has found a fur-ever home that is just as special as she is! We were greeted by Mary Claire and Richard and their adorable yorkies, Kadie and Molly. They made the two hour trek from New Jersey to Delaware to meet Kaleigh and surely, they werenâÃÂÃÂt disappointed! The three yorkie girls met and got along beautifully, greeting each other with puppy kisses! After spending some time with Kaleigh and seeing how the girls interacted, Mary Claire and Richard were ready to make the big decision to take Kaleigh to her forever home. Although Kaleigh is taking a piece of my heart with her two hours away, I am beyond excited that she was able to find a family that seems to suit her so well! A main point I was looking for in her forever home was high activity between people and dogs so I couldnâÃÂÃÂt be happier knowing that Kaleigh will be spending her days soaking up the sun on an island in New Jersey with her new yorkie sisters and any new friends she will make along the way. I felt at ease to see Kaleigh enjoy Kadie and MollyâÃÂÃÂs company along with being comfortable around Mary Claire and Richard. The final goodbye as she was loaded into the car was heartbreaking but I feel better knowing that her new family will keep her safe and continue to give her the life she deserves. To Kaleigh - thank you for being the bestest friend Winston and Phoebe could ever ask for. You were a great addition to our pack and I know Kadie and Molly will feel the same way. I wish you nothing but the best of luck in your new home, sweet girl. YouâÃÂÃÂll always have a piece of our hearts here in Delaware! We love you! Congratulations Kaleigh!!!
Lacey Lacey has been such an added joy to our family. She has gone through quite a but while under our care and I am glad to report she is now at her best considering. It makes my heart smile to see her adapt to us and our home so well. She is my little purse, my baby, my comfort, my motivation, etc. She is a part of my family. We are happy she chose us and that we can offer her a home! Congratulations Lacey!!!
Jaxx Thursday was a very very special day for both Jaxx and Bob. It was gotcha day for Jaxx. As soon as Bob arrived Jaxx was all over him. We took care of the paperwork and questions and Bob took Jaxx for a walk while I packed up all of Jaxx's treasures. We visited for a bit more and my eyes were giving away what my heart was feeling so it was time for them to go. I got 5 pictures and a text and they were only gone an hour or so. I believe it was a match made in heaven and Save a Yorkie Rescue, Inc.
Ginger Snap On Saturday, Ginger left to live with her new family. The last week is always bittersweet for me. Of course, thereâs the emotional component of it. It seems that I battle all week with the collision of so many emotions â pride, sadness, excitement, and happiness but, thereâs also the overwhelming feeling of being responsible for someone elseâs pet. Logically, I realize that is what I have been doing all along but until the last week, Ginger was another member of our family. She blended in with us and adapted to our schedule. We never thought of her as a foster dog; she was just another member of our family! John and I would often include her when we addressed âthe boysâ and then would stammer and add âand Girl!â So, as we enjoy the week of âlastsâ, Gingerâs new family is excitedly preparing for the âfirstsâ. They are a lovely couple with experience with Yorkies but they donât currently have any other pets. Ginger will be doted on! Sheâll have a big backyard and an open lap for snuggling which is everything Ginger wants! Our week of lasts has officially ended as Ginger went home with her new family today. When they arrived Ginger smothered them with kisses but when the time came to leave, Ginger hesitated a bit but then went off with her new family without so much as a backwards glance! Congratulations Ginger Snap!!!
Teddie Itâs Official! Teddie has been adopted! Teddieâs new name is now Theo. This goofy boy makes us laugh each day! He has made a great addition to our family. He and Charlie, our 3-year-old rescue, love to play chase and cuddle with each other. Our rescue kitty, Freeloader now allows Theo to come into her personal space, which is great because Theo does not understand the meaning of personal space. He is constantly climbing on us, throwing his head on our necks, legs, chest, pillow, anything to get up close and in your business! Theo recently had a dental treatment, and unfortunately due to previous neglect, lost 14 teeth and had 2 missing already. He has recovered well and is eating like a champ! He is very food motivated, which causes some challenges for our senior boy, Bo. Bo is not used to such a big, little brother getting to the treats first. (But we secretly give Bo Treats when Theo isnât looking) We continue to work on training and commands and Theo continues to make progress. Theo is still learning to walk on a lead. Overall, Theo is settling in nicely. Every day he seems to be more comfortable with his surroundings. When Theo first arrived, he was constantly looking for a way to escape. His flight instincts are still strong, but we feel them waning a bit each day as he appears to be coming to terms with the fact that this is furever home. Theo is now our goof ball, who just needed some unconditional love and lots and lots of pets and cuddles. He loves being part of a pack. We have no doubt, he will continue to make us laugh daily as he continues to get acclimated to his new home, parents, brothers, and sister. He truly has brightened up our home with his blonde head and underbite smile! Thank you SAYR for bringing this bundle of joy to us. Congratulations Teddie!!!
