Bernard

Jack and Bernie have been with us 6 weeks. They arrived as frighten, disheveled dogs who lacked trust and confidence. In a safe loving environment these two dogs have shown what wonderful personalities they have. They are happy, trusting and secure with us. They wake up in the morning and start wiggling their bodies, wagging their tales and Jack has started to squeal to communicate. Jack and Bernie are such good dogs and they make us so happy. We knew we could not let them go so, we're happy to say THEY HAVE FOUND THEIR FOREVER HOME.

Brock

I did not get to know this little guy that well because he was only in foster care 8 days before he went to his forever home but I think this is going to be a great couple for Brock to call Mom and Dad. He took to them right away, dragging the toy basket over then promptly emptying it out so they could see his toys. He loves to play with squeaky toys and Tina said that she already has some in his new home as well as a collar and a coat for those cold Pennsylvania winters. He settled in on Tina’s lap for the 5 hour ride to his new home. Best wishes Tina, Randy and little Brock for a great life together. We will miss you, little guy. Congratulations Brock!!!

Bonnie

Our sweet little Bonnie has been officially adopted on Monday by the wonderful Paula and Curt. Paula contacted us even before they were approved while they were going thru the approval process. Tom and I had come to love Bonnie so much and knew how truly special she was. Paula asked all the right questions and had all the right answers to my questions and they embodied the family we knew would be the right fit for her. It was made official once they were approved. It was hard for them to wait until Bonnie could go to her new home due to her going into heat and then waiting for her to be spayed, but they realized Bonnie was the one and patiently waited until she was ready. Bittersweet is the perfect word for when you foster leaves with their new family, but Paula keeps me updated on her progress and I have to say she is doing great! At this time she has no furry siblings so she has both their undivided attention. They both are interested in several aspects of volunteering with SAYR, so hopefully our paths may cross again. A final note, they are going to call her Princess Bonnie, it is the name she is most comfortable with and answers to. Congratulations Princess Bonnie!!!

Beautiful Tilly

Tilly has found her forever home and mom. She will be living the life in DC being pampered like the princess she deserves to be. It was a teary goodbye by her foster mom and dad but knowing that she is going to be loved and well cared for helped ease the sadness. Tilly was such an easy dog to foster and we will miss her so much. She is so sweet and I know that her new mom Ida will love her so much. We love you Tilly and we are so happy for you and your mom. Congratulations Tilly!!!

Banditt

Banditt has been adopted by a wonderful couple in PA, the Todaro’s, who will make him the prince that he deserves to be. His adopters previously adopted through SAYR but Chase recently passed away and they felt the time was right to open their hearts to another rescue dog. Banditt initially did not get along with his foster siblings, Lucy and Teddy, but over time he learned to tolerate and then to happily live and play with them. The Todaro family would eventually like to adopt another dog but will give Banditt the time he needs to adjust to his new life. This was foster mom Nancy Myers‘ first dog to foster, which proved to be challenging initially, but she shed tears as Banditt and his new parents drove away. Best wishes for Banditt and his mom and dad. We will miss you Banditt! Congratulations Banditt!!!
