Miki Quality not quantity! In the end it didnât matter how few applications came in for Miki because all that mattered was the one that was submitted by his now forever family, the Gaetas. In 2020, the Gaetas adopted JoJo (Calvin/Cal), one of my fosters from SAYR. So, when Karen Gaeta called me to talk about the possibility of adopting Miki, I had no doubt that this could be the only application that he needed to give him his forever home. A little backstoryâ¦a few weeks before Miki came into our lives, Karen had texted me to let me know that sadly Cal had passed over the rainbow bridge. Tragically, they had also lost their first beloved Yorkie, Chloe, a few months earlier. The family missed them terribly. When Miki arrived at our home and became available for adoption, Karen understandably, wasnât sure if her family was ready to bring a new pup into their lives. We continued to talk and text, sending pictures and updates on Mikiâs adorable personality. It wasnât long before they fell in love. The heart has the astonishing ability to expand. And welcoming a new dog into your life after losing one can be like discovering a secret chamber within your heart. Cal and Chloe showed the Gaetas that they have unlimited amounts of love in their hearts, and of course, that life is better shared with dogs. So we celebrate Cal and Chloeâs memories and the joy that Miki will bring as they welcome this new family member into their home. Congratulations to all!!!
Maddee Our sweet and lovable Maddee has found her Forever Family! Maddee has won everyoneâs heart who has met her! The pilot who flew her from Va to NJ, Donna, who helped me out with Maddee when she first arrived, Vet office staff in both Vets she visited, groomers as well and any family and friends who met her could not help want to hold her, love her and pamper her. Maddee is not only a beautiful pup, but has the sweetest disposition and deserves the best family. She is also such a resilient dog. She has had 3 major surgeries (her 2 ears and a spay with cyst removal) in 5 months! Maddee spent 6 months in our home, and we loved every minute of it!! Maddee had so many applications! Sarah and Kate first applied to SAYR back in Summer 2023. They wanted Maddee but werenât complete in the process yet. But, as luck would have it Maddee went into heat and her spay surgery had to wait. So, Sarah and Kate chose to wait all these months for Maddee. I am so glad they made this decision because they are wonderful pet parents! They have Paisley, an 8 year old Yorkie who they treat like a princess! Both gals work from home so Maddee will enjoy their attention all day long! Maddee and Paisley get along well and they live a few towns away from us, so they invited us to visit them anytime. We have been connected now for months sending pictures back and forth and hoping the dogs would get along well, and they do! We will love and miss Maddee forever but we are so happy Sarah and Kate will be giving her such a Wonderful Life and we will be visiting. Congratulations Maddee!!!
Marlie Marlie has found her forever home! She has been adopted by a couple who appeared to fall in love with her at first sight and vice versa. Marlie brought out her toy to show them and I knew that this was a going to be a good fit. Candy and Gary left with big smiles on their faces and a tiny dog on Candys lap. Best wishes for a long and happy life Marlie. We love you. Congratulations Marlie!!!
Morty Morty (aka Jaxx) has found his forever home. After many calls and messages about Jaxx, Mary Ellen & Bruce came for the meet and greet along with their son and daughter-in-law. They were greeted at the door with great enthusiasm by Jaxx as well as our two yorkies. Bruce & Mary Ellen were great and Jaxx thought so too. He felt very comfortable sitting alongside Bruce on the couch and climbing into their laps for attention. We all spent some time getting to know each other and Jaxx approved. He went happily with them for the car ride to his new home. We have shared information back and forth daily and he is settling in well. We all have agreed to stay in touch. As he was the first to go to another home, it has been a little hard on us but knowing what a great home he has and the wonderful family he is with makes it a bit easier. We do miss him though. Congratulations Morty!!!
Madeline Saturday was a bitter sweet day for foster mom and dad as Madeline went to her fur-ever home with new mom and dad Jessica and Pierre. Madeline seemed to fit right in and was happy to get to know new siblings Angel and Harney. Madeline was an absolute joy to foster! She is the most laidback, always happy little Yorkie I have ever met and we wish her all the best as she lives her best life! Congratulations Madeline!!! Click a letter to find an animal or view all.
