Kisses Kisses was definitely my hardest foster to let go. She was the longest foster I have had so far and the first one I have had since a new puppy. In October of 2023, while fostering a different dog through SAYR, I was sent the absolute cutest picture of two tiny puppies that had just come into rescue. I think these tiny terrors were driving Kathy crazy because she could not wait until I was available to take them in! My foster dog at the time found an awesome forever home and the day he got adopted, I immediately made my trek to go pick up the girls. Kisses was such a beautiful, little ray of sunshine since the very beginning. I knew in my heart that I was going to end up keeping one of these babies but also knew that I could not keep both due to the risks of Littermate Syndrome into adulthood. Throughout the beginning of fostering them, I had bounced back and forth, completely indecisive on who I wanted to adopt. Throughout our time together, Kisses was blossoming into such an independent, confident, and fearless little pup. It made me sad but I knew she would thrive and adapt to a new forever home. I had gotten numerous messages, phone calls, and applications for Kisses - she was quite the popular pup! But, for one reason or another, the applicants did not work out. Then one day, I was sent Tamara and Bella application and immediately thought, they are perfect. Every box checked off and they seemed like the perfect family for my little Kisses to go to. As they went through each phase of the application process, I could do nothing but cross my fingers and hope that this would be the family to call home. In the end, they ended up being absolutely everything I wanted for Kisses. They are a young, active couple with a four year old dog named Roadi, who was truly the icing on the cake. I was so hopeful that Kisses would have another buddy to do life with since she grew up with her littermate and two other dogs in the foster home. They treat their dogs like family and engage them in so many different activities and adventures. This made me so excited for Kisses future - she has her whole life ahead of her! On our Meet and Greet day, it was further proven that Tamara, Bella, and Roadi would treat Kisses right and give her the loving family she deserves. I felt totally comfortable! Kisses and Roadi got along well and based on some updates since adoption day, they are slowly beginning to open up to each other and play! Kisses, who has been since renamed Twyla, has settled in beautifully and looks to be already living such an amazing new life! The tears definitely started flowing before their car even fully pulled away, but it truly warmed my heart when Bella stopped to roll the window down and say,Âit is not goodbye - it is see you later! I hope to see Kisses and Snuggles reunite in the future and wish my baby the best for the rest of her life! Thank you Tamara and Bella for giving me the peace of mind necessary to let such a special dog go. Congratulations Kisses!!!
Kadee Kadee went to her new home on Saturday! Patrizia and her sister came to meet Kadee after a 5 hour drive from Virginia. They loved her immediately and Kadee sat in their lap as we were going over paperwork. Kadee then took the long drive back with them staying up the entire time! I thought my little girl must have been thinking what is going on??? Patrizia sent me a photo when they got home of Kadee exploring their beautiful backyard! She told me Kadee loves playing back there and runs all around exploring. She plays and watches tv with Patrizia's mom and has all the attention on her....which is something Kadee always insists on. One particular thing Kadeee now enjoys is when she is served her food she can eat a little....walk away for a while...and then go back and eat some more. When she was here with my two girls she would eat as fast as she could because as soon as my dogs finished their food they were right behind her watching. I had to stand in between like the food police to make sure they didn't chase her away from her food. It's been only 4 days that Kadee is in her new home and she is eating, sleeping and playing like she has been there forever! I miss her terribly but overjoyed that Kadee has a wonderful life ahead of her. Congratulations Kadee!!!
Kaleigh Well, the tears are flowing! Kaleigh has found a fur-ever home that is just as special as she is! We were greeted by Mary Claire and Richard and their adorable yorkies, Kadie and Molly. They made the two hour trek from New Jersey to Delaware to meet Kaleigh and surely, they werenâÃÂÃÂt disappointed! The three yorkie girls met and got along beautifully, greeting each other with puppy kisses! After spending some time with Kaleigh and seeing how the girls interacted, Mary Claire and Richard were ready to make the big decision to take Kaleigh to her forever home. Although Kaleigh is taking a piece of my heart with her two hours away, I am beyond excited that she was able to find a family that seems to suit her so well! A main point I was looking for in her forever home was high activity between people and dogs so I couldnâÃÂÃÂt be happier knowing that Kaleigh will be spending her days soaking up the sun on an island in New Jersey with her new yorkie sisters and any new friends she will make along the way. I felt at ease to see Kaleigh enjoy Kadie and MollyâÃÂÃÂs company along with being comfortable around Mary Claire and Richard. The final goodbye as she was loaded into the car was heartbreaking but I feel better knowing that her new family will keep her safe and continue to give her the life she deserves. To Kaleigh - thank you for being the bestest friend Winston and Phoebe could ever ask for. You were a great addition to our pack and I know Kadie and Molly will feel the same way. I wish you nothing but the best of luck in your new home, sweet girl. YouâÃÂÃÂll always have a piece of our hearts here in Delaware! We love you! Congratulations Kaleigh!!!
Koko Koko was adopted by her foster family. They just couldn’t imaging life without her in the pack! She now has 3 siblings and continues to wear her crown to remind everyone she is the queen! Congratulations to all!
Kimmie Lil Kimmie was adopted on Sunday by Layne. She drove down from northern NY with her sister Margo and their dogs Taco & Tazz. They came over Saturday afternoon to meet Kimmie and it was love at first sight. Tazz and Taco were also very excited to add a sister to the pack! Layne was so excited to adopt Kimmie and give her the amazing life she deserves. Kimmie is an older dog who was surrendered with her son Inky back in March. Inky was adopted last month since they were not a bonded pair. Kimmie had some health issues to work through but she is a fighter and is doing great now ð Layne is retired and will be able to spend lots of time with Kimmie. She also told me she had a closet full of clothes for her! Layne seems like the perfect home for Kimmie. Congratulations Kimmie!!! Click a letter to find an animal or view all.
